It is finally complete!
This is my twist on a classic painting "Rooftop in Capri" by Charles Coleman. I wanted to bring more of a story to the piece, learn from an expert painter while working, and of course add a bit of fluff to my version. :3
Today I'm Grateful for:
Finding Long Lost Friends
Story Times
Fresh Prints Hot Of The Press
Total Time: ??? I honestly don't know, but at least 18 hours at the minimum.
In 2016 I started journaling daily. Part of that writing process has been to write 3 things I am grateful for each morning.
I'm going to share those three things along with a speed paint each Mon-Fri.
This practice has benefited me artistically as well as emotionally. My hope is that by sharing this, you guys can feel some of those good vibes too

looking at the original I can see the changes. what was a girl in thought or maybe daydream became a girl deeply disappointed by love. she might have tossed the vase in rage, grabbing one rose before it fell to the ground. "What if...? Was it me?" but deep down she knows where the problem lays, and that it all was but wasted time. especially hers... she should have known. Didn't momma warn her? Yes she did. Why is it so hard to listen to those who know?
and the cat is like, "What was that?"

Thanks for uploading each step of the painting in progress. I happen to be working on my most challenging painting yet, so it really helps me to see how similar paintings are made.
Anyway, looking at your finished piece, I'd say all that hard work really paid off, especially with the fine details like the plants and their individual leaves and blooms.
