Did you catch that thing in the title? Clever, ain't I? This may or not go on Contravance or Defective Contingencies when one or the other is or is not released.
AND GODDAMNIT, GIVE ME SOME FUCKING COMMENTS ON THIS SHIT!
This song is almost as old as Teardrops/raindrops/the rainfall, but just a little bit younger. I never actually did it electric before today, though. Every time I've ever played it was on an acoustic guitar. Because of this,

Yeah, it is a bit metallica-y isn't it? lol I don't know about the solo, though. I was going for a Petrucci-esque feel with it. Complicated and fast, yet still in key. lol I did try writing something higher for it, as well as a little more than just speed, melody/harmony-wise, but I couldn't get anything and what I did get I completely forgot as soon as I was done playing it. lol Seriously, my roommates and Kendall kept thinking I had hurt myself with how often I was cursing while writing the solo. lmao I'll try to get something else down for the solo, but I don't know if I'll be able to get anything new. I've been in a pretty bad funk lately. :\
I'm glad you like it, though, dude! :D

I was thinking it needed more solos. I was thinking a little something during the second verse or at the end just after the distorted guitars stop, though.
I would go for a clean solo at the beginning, but I am shit with clean solos. lol I try to write it as if it was a heavy distorted solo, so it sounds shitty. lol

Thanks dude! Does it have a good "last track of the album" kind of epic feel to it? (you know what I mean - the last track has to be the most moving/epic song of the album, right? ;P)
Honestly, I've always wanted a good heavy/clean blend like in Metallicas Unforgiven and Unforgiven II, but I've never been able to do it. lol

I know exactly what you mean lol, and yes it does!
Although I disagree with Juno about the '.blow the face off' kind of thing, if you give it like your all in heavyness and whatnot at the end, it feels like an awkward end, like 'What? this sucks there's no more'
But if you leave it with the other way, the listener will feel satisfied. At least, that's what I think lol

Awesome! :D
I have noticed that a lot of bands are using Junos technique lately. Like Avenged Sevenfold, with their latest album. While the last song is very emotionally powerful and all that, it's just not as epic as the song before it. I just woke up, so I can't actually think of any more good examples. lol
