so he started the tournament knowing universes could be destroyed in the process and he's just doing this to fight someone stronger then him and prove himself, and he believes that no matter what he's going to win so after everyone is erased he'll just wish them all back........... wow, there has to be a word invented for how conceited and dickish Goku is being in this season. He's literally putting lives on the line for his own entertainment and to prove he's the strongest.... wow
To be fair sinister laughing is kind of a staple of the dragon ball series, lol. Same with sly grins and smack-talking. I think they just do it to intimidate their opponents. Because other than that Bergamo seems like a decent guy. He did want to save the other universes from erasure after all.
And you're right, that was a major oversight I think on the part of the writers. Goku should've shown guilt when he found out the penalty for loss was erasure. Goku doesn't even like to kill the bad guys he fights, let alone cause the deaths of innocent people. so I can't imagine it wouldn't hit him hard that he was responsible for the erasure of other universes. Especially considering all he wanted was to fight stronger guys from other universes.

Not sure how you can call him disgusting, considering he convinced Zeno to spare all the other universes if he beat Goku. If he truly was this disgusting evil person why try to save other universes you've never known before now? Especially considering Goku showed no remorse for having been the person to suggest the tournament. There's no possible way Bergamo could've known Goku never intended for the other universes to be erased. And he's understandably pissed
