Page 16: Looting Gerudos
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
Description:
Nishidor enters Gerudo Valley and meets the bald guy, whose carpenters are gone, and the racing/racist bunny man.
Then he runs into many friendly Gerudo ladies who thieve him all sorts of gifts and things he'd need for the Spirit Temple.
But Nishidor is overwhelmed with the racism of Gerudo Valley, so he flips out.
And then, once they realize Nishidor is a male, he is captured and thrown in prison without a hookshot.
Commentary:
I had too many jokes about Gerudo Valley, not that any of them are funny, but that's why it's a two-parter.
LINK LOOTED EPONA, THE KOKORI SWORD, AND TONS OF THINGS and apparently that's okay.
The Ice Arrow is really the most useless item there is too... I forgot to get it and still beat the game.
Bye bye Hookshot. ):

Lol, nice job Nish. <:3 Lol, didn't realize it when I was playing, but you do make some interesting points with the Gerudo. But of other things, I like how they gave him the TriForce and the Spirit Medallion...He doesn't need to go to the temple now. <XD Don't worry, I along with Shade will get you out of there. <:3
Racists. <LoL!> Man, you are getting this game at every angle that Nintendo has blatently allowed you to. Well done!
I'm sure someone already pointed this out, but I am most amused by the little nuance on the Mirror Shield. Now that I think of it, I do believe one could easily summise that what you see here is what they were really going for when they formulated the design for the place. Kazootles!
Fun points in regard to Link and his "Rouge" activities, too. Seriously, he does steal the Kokiri Sword, commits Breaking and Entering on Hyrule Castle (and countless other homes), Causes countless amounts of property damage by blowing up walls and crushing stones that were obviously put in place by people for a reason, and pretty much is an accessory to murder for all the sages as, conveniently, he never gets to them in time before they bite the big one...
The list goes on so far beyond this that, if tried, he'd go from "The Hero of Time" to "The Felon of Hard Time." <LoL!>

Hehe, apparently in later versions of the game they changed the shield design so it didn't match the Islamic symbol, but it's still funny how that ended up being a part of the Gerudos...
While I looked that up I also saw that in another Zelda game (for the GBA?) one of the dungeon floor/maps were in the shape of the Swastika, so some people called in and complained. 8D If Nintendo really didn't intend to do any of these things then they sure can't get a break. ;P
My point exactly! ;O; Ehehe, he can bust into whatever home he wants, slash at innocent little cuccos all day, break pots and jars, taking ruppees without a second thought... maybe when he goes back to his old time he can do 7 years in prison. D:

Good point. That, or they figure the time he spent in limbo growing up during those seven years was punishment enough. I mean, who knows what those crazy folks in the Temple of Time were doing to him while they kept changing his clothes and what-not? Creepy.
Another theory that can run on this, which leads into Majora's Mask, is that his crimes were so bad that Zelda knew there was no way she could stay with him. Hyrulian politics are so intense, after all. :)
You know, I had no idea about the shiled change. However, it does explain why the Mirror Shield in Majora's Mask has a stupid face on it instead of a fun design.
On that note, did you also know that they changed the music in the Fire Temple due to angry people? Turns out the chanting heard in the "Gold Cartridge" edition was so alike another culture that they had to pull that layer of sound out of later releases of the game. Kazootles!

Hehe, that's true... 7 years of youngsterness taken away forever isn't very fun! ;O; Those are supposed to be good times!
Ahaha, I didn't think of that... but you gotta wonder who put those white tights on him once he grew up...
We're looking at you, Rauru! D:
That makes sense too! Just like with Link's Awakening, he seems to get thrown into fantasy-ish worlds pretty often... maybe it's cause it's the only way to straighten him out!
Oh! I think that sounds vaguely familiar... but I didn't know it was because of that. 8D How strange. Hopefully editing isn't too much hard work em with all they have to do!
