At Anthrocon I stared at a blank page and asked
timkangaroo what to draw. He said Teleia. So I did. And I gave her two heads, one with a moutheye and eyemouths. I showed the work in progress to another guy at the table, who was put to mind of Picasso. So I added text having Teleia talk about Picasso. So ta-daaa!
(And no, this is not an ad for a real Picasso exhibition anywhere. The info on the sign is fictional.)

Interesting side note about Picasso - he was very much a supporter of the pro-democratic forces during the Spanish Civil War, and actually drew a rather provocative comic about General Francisco Franco riding into combat on a giant penis. Of course, when it comes to his political activism, this was actually a feature more of his later life than his early life; it wasn't until the Spanish Civil War, particularly the bombing by Germans in support of Franco's regime of the Basque town of Guernica that his activism truly began, as exemplified by his monumental work Guernica. His use of Spanish cultural references also comes on display in Guernica, notably in the use of the stigmata on some of the victims (a call back to earlier Spanish paintings where the stigmata was used on martyrs) and of course the usage of bullfighting symbolism.
Sorry for the info-dump; bit of an art history nerd here. XD

To be precise, Picasso remained in Paris during the German occupation in WWII. It was during a search of his apartment that an officer of the Gestapo saw a photograph of Guernica and the above exchange took place.
For those who don't know: Guernica is created to mourn the city of the same name. In 1937, the city of Guernica in Spain was bombed for two solid hours by both German forces (the Condor Legion, an adjunct to the famous Luftwaffe) and the Italians (the Aviazione Legionaria). By the time they finished, all that remained were a church, a small munitions factory (outside the city limits) and a tree.
