Waggle finger intul fish bites finger

Yank from water, bat fish carefully so that nail does not go through fish and into arm

Salt and pepper fish to taste, eat

Repeat as necessary

I've fished for catfish like that.

Lie face-down on the floating dock on the clean little lake overrun with bullheads.

Smear finger with stinky last-night's-bacon-drippings.

Stick hand in water under the edge of the dock.

Wait.

Holler when fish bites your finger, especially if it's a big-un. Lucky there were no pike or gar in the lake.

Pull hand and fish out. Bullhead will be too greedy to let go.

Hold bullhead above bucket of water until it starts to asphyxiate from not having its gills in water. Bullhead (which is greedy but not knowingly suicidal) opens mouth and falls into bucket.

Make catfish dinner. Cook well. Yum.
