As a public service to the new members of YERF, Asheru here displays a chart showing the proper method of wrapping "Puttees" or "spiral leg Wraps". Asheru is mine, but the images come from a Japanese Military Manual. She thanks you for your attention. G-pen on recycled paper. Scott Ruggels 9 / 2000
[Originally posted September 15, 2000. Asheru had started something of a fashion trend in Yerf for wrappings. She's in front of artwork originally handed out by Japanese WW2 Re-enactors when I went to an even at Camp Roberts that year, and their equipment load out and authenticity was impeccable. I thought the information would be useful to others on yerf who had characters wearing Puttees or other forms of wraps.

you have to get the right kind of wool, or slightly nubbly cotton, and wrap those suckers tight. I didn't have too much trouble with then but then I always made wure I had long "tapes" to tie them off like these Japanese ones. But the British short wraps were easier for the Ww2 Desert uniform, for sure.
