The lizard-man watched with anticipation as he awaited another opportunity to strike. However, as he slid another, serrated dart down to his hand from his sleeve, the cloaked man he had initially spotted at the outskirts of the city began running towards him with amazing speed.
“What is he up to?” pondered Snu while preparing to attack the remaining members of the group, who were starting to get up and move into a nearby building.
WHA-WA-WA-WHA!
SHEE!
TINK!
Snu dropped his dart as his ears picked up on the sound of something loud whizzing by and crashing itself into the side of the balcony that he was standing on.
SHEE-TINK!
TINK!
“How?!” he exclaimed as he watched two small discs crash and embed themselves in regions of the balcony that were way too close to him for comfort.
“Blah, blah-blah, Blah!” the cloaked bird-like creature cried from below the building as he reached his wing into one of his pockets and pulled out another small disc.
Snu had no idea how he had been found out, but he knew he had to get out fast. So, just after his attacker launched the disc he had just pulled out, he leapt from the balcony and scurried down to the streets below.
“BLAH!” the bird-man squawked as he swung out one of his blue wings.
“Wha!” the snake-man gasped in surprise as his legs suddenly flew up in front of him and he came crashing down upon the ground.
“Blah blah, blah! Blah-blah!” the cloaked figure stated as he threw out his other wing and lifted it upward.
“No!” cried Snu as he felt his body rise from the cobblestone road. He knew at this time that if he didn’t think of something quick, he’d soon be either captured or eliminated.
The bird-like man moved toward the defenseless Snu as he mumbled some sort of incantation.
“Do you understand me now?” asked the cloaked bird in an irritated tone.
Snu was surprised that he could now suddenly understand what his assailant was saying.
“Who are you?” he hissed.
The bird dropped his wings to his sides downward upon hearing Snu’s question, which resulted in him being slammed to the ground.
“I’m the one asking the questions here, serpent!” he forcefully explained.
“You’re a mentalist,” stated Snu with a hiss.
The psychic made a displeased look as he stated, “I am Emino, spiritual sorcerer of Lunis!”
Snu slid to his feet and hissed “Your title does not impress me, mentalist.”
“I don’t care if you are impressed!” Emino angrily announced. “I just want to know what you know and I want to know it NOW!”
“Good luck with that,” Snu spat as he lashed his forked tongue at Emino’s face.
“Ungh!” the psychic sorcerer groaned as he reeled back from the sudden sting he felt against his cheek.
Seizing his chance, Snu clasped his hands together and began to quickly murmur, “Snu-shroud-self.”
“You’ll pay for that!” exclaimed Emino in anger as he glared towards the lizard-man. However, he was surprised to see that a glowing symbol had suddenly appeared on his opponent’s head along with three larger symbols that surrounded him.
“Catch me if you can!” Snu snarled before suddenly disappearing in a cloud of blue light.
The blinding blue light caused Emino to lose sight of Snu. The psychic sorcerer made a fist with his winged hand as he proclaimed, “You shall find no shelter that will shield you from my mind’s eye!”
