I was asked to show some pics of my minipig..i had to photograph the pics from the album because i have no scanner so this looks a bit blurry.
When she was little my sow could use the cat as a pillow.
Now the cat can use the sow as a bed. Yeah pigs can easily be toilet trained but...well..you have to find a litter box that is big enough for them.
Minipigs have normally a length from 90 to 120 centimetres when they are fully grown...which is at the age of five years.
Normally they weigh 100 to 200 pounds, that is not overweight, that is normal. Pigs can be named minipigs up to a weight of 240 pounds...
Farmed pigs normally can reach 600 pounds and more ..so minpigs are mini...even if it does not look so when such a pig gallops straight to you.
It is simply a lie to say that there is a breed of minipigs that do not weigh more than 20, 40 or 60 pounds...these are mostly inbreed, ill or underfeed (young) pigs
Minipigs are very strong willed and they will get what they want even if they have to break a door for this.
You can not handle them like you would handle a dog.
Pigs will like you..but they are not devoted to you...they are more like cats..very loud and big cats.
With their strong snout they can do much damage...not to mention the theeth and their strong bite.
They have a stronger bite than dogs with the similiar build..i saw her crunch a cow tigh bone that someone throwed on the dunghill.
She ate it like one would munch on a piece of dried bread...yeah that was a bit scary.
Do not keep a minipig in the house if you do not have enough money for new furniture because they gnaw on everything with much more destructive nature a dog would. They pull out the carpet, debuild your couch and use the filling for their nest...and no you can not get that behaviour out of the pig.
They will break through your storage cabinet if they can reach it, open every package and can and get it all over your floor...all rooms..up the stairs.
They will drain your liqour, munch your books and defile your rubber boots.
Do yourself and the minipig a favor..make a big corral with a shelter...buy a second minipig as companion and give them much hay, straw and twigs to gnaw on and build a nest..than you will have funny companions that can venting their overflowing energy outside and cuddle up to you on the couch when you can keep an eye on them.
And..yeah..when she was born she was small enough to find space in my hand..not much bigger than a grown up rat...with 5 months she was bigger than a housecat and some pounds heavier..and now she is grown up...160 pounds, 100cm lenght...a normal and healthy minipig

I just hope people are a bit more carefull.
I really hate this tv shows where minipigs are shown as devoted, adorable, obedient and ..very little so you can keep them in a flat.
The animal aid organisation have a handfull to do when the owners can no longer keep the normally grown but too big for them minipigs..
And also the county veterinary has to allow the minipig as a pet because pigs are nromally farm animals and you have to get the right documents, the ear tags...the insurance if there is something like the swine flu.
All the officialismn is stuff that is not told..often the breeders do not tell it too because it would scare the costumers...and then when something bad happens you are in deep shit.

That is nearly grown up Bristel in her basket...made for large dogs and she really had to stuff herself into it. Pigs just have a more solid body than most dogs(mybe thats why i love english bulldogs)

When snuffles (adopted daugter of bristel) was near giving birth she horded strange stuff for her nest. I missed the garden hose that day and she had neatly rolled it up inside her shag, lying above it with her five babies at her belly.
The rubber of the hose was a great heat storage..strange but comfortable
