OOoo! How beautiful :D Thank you =^-^=!
Is that a rainbow lorikeet? What a beautiful bird :3
I'm still trying to figure on how to do lighting myself, but:
You can start by figuring out where the light is going to be coming from (I need to do this more)
Here is a link to secondary light sources that

I like to find similar images to what I'm trying to do, to see where the shadows are falling on the human form(I googled, releasing bird):
If the light was coming from (above) this image would work for shading reference:

For her form, I googled: Woman Kneeling Swimsuit:

You can experiment on a separate page, getting the colors the way you want ( I do this all the time, so I can see how adding a darker color, or one out of the hue range will look, before applying it on the original coloring)
For highlights I usually use white pencil, or a color in the hue range closest to white.
you can blend it in, by adding a little color on top of that, if it looks /too/ white.
Hopefully this helps some :3
