This year's commission theme for Anthrocon centered around my R-Force girls having a fun tropical vacation from their superheroing. In this piece, we see Jennifer "Echo" Sonica on a stroll with Calypso "Whiplash" Arko. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever introduced Calypso in my gallery... though I did mention her in passing at least once. She's the daughter of R-Force leader, Col. Jerelle "Thunder" Arko, and just as capable as her father (at the time their story begins, she's already graduated as a special forces operative). Here, however, she gets the chance to relax with the other girls as a trusted equal. She and Jennifer are enjoying a walk along the beach, with Jenn keeping a lively conversation going. It's probably to cover her own nervousness as she still hasn't mustered up the courage to admit to her friend that she has a crush on the mare...
