There's something about this scene that honestly makes me a little sad.

If you don't mind me adding on, I think it's because of the left hand character's pose primarily. Because they have their head down and appear sad, and the character who's injured appears to be comforting them, it gives the impression that the left hand character is distressed over what's happened, or possibly feels guilty, and the injured person has to then take time out of their recovery to comfort the upset one.
For a happier toned image I'd have raised the left hand character's head, have them looking at each other and maybe have them both have a hand on the other's shoulder. This would give the impression that they're supporting each other, particularly if the expressions were also more positive rather than concerned.

That aside, this is a lovely piece, and it might not have turned out how you intended, but I think it's very touching and certainly makes me want to know more.

That's always something that's bugged me about the Mass Effect universe - how having a cybernetic limb is apparently traumatic in and of itself, and you'd need therapy for it.

I guess it's hurt a lot in the processed [and still in hella pain after the process complete]
If you play Andromeda you'll know [even for Krogan it still hurt a lot]
