How do you do it? You've got a waaaaay better imagination for cool and unique characters like this than me!

I just like looking at animals and researching strange and wonderful shit then it's just a process of mashing shit together until you find something neato and cool that works.

I'll have to try that then! Never been much for mashing things together as much as trying to invent new things that ultimately end up fading out.

Well nature has a whole ton of crazy shit in it, find some of that craziness and utilize it!
I didn't just pick the blue ringed octopus as basis for his colour scheme JUST because it looked cool but also because octopi are practically shapeshifters in their own right. Or probably the closest you could get in reality along with cuttlefish.

Extremely so. Partially why I get salty over some choices of characters (I mean at the end of the day it's their choice and as long as their happy it doesn't matter so I don't go out of my way to call it shit but it makes me roll my eyes internally).

Eeh yeah. Viana wasn't the most creative choice of mine though I'm glad she got at least some following I guess?

Idk, I'd love to make Viana more interesting but her design is so cemented in place I'd feel bad changing it.

That said I don't really know why foxes and wolves are so iconic- I know that the latter has been domesticated so humans are naturally comfortable with them usually, but still, they hog the spotlight! Tardigrades need love dangit!

Well it's your character so like I said I have no right to criticize it, and it's all up to you how you want to change it.
No matter how big the change it doesn't matter as long as it makes you happy.

But yeah, I mean I can log onto FA and see an entire front page full of foxes/wolves/canines and it just BORES me, like yeah look at Tardigrades! They're fascinating but are they used? No, and nature has a PHENOMENAL amount of life and variety yet it's just wolf after wolf after canine and it just feels personally boring as heck.

Kinda why I generally refuse to make a canine character lol (Though Corgi's have almost tempted me before, they're adorable).

Pff corgis are cuuuuuute. I like Shih-Tzus as well.

But yeah if I'm honest Viana's species bores me. I'd love to have her be an Ozkvin or something but like I said, her design is kinda cemented...

I also like the big dogs with droopy faces, and the Bulldog.

Well like I said it's up to you, it's your character and they should make you happy at the end of the day.
If you're really unsure put out a status or journal posing the question.

I know, but I'll probably spend a while longer mulling it over. She has a few AUs so I'd probably make the fox species one an AMU(alternate multiverse) and have the ozkvin one be the canon one. But eh, I'll need to mull it over.

Also, speaking of interesting characters, I had a kinda silly idea of something Ylarnafum could do! I imagine he's kinda squishy so he could make himself shorter by retracting his head into his neck and tail into itself kinda, making him much wider around but much shorter in length? It's a kinda odd concept to explain but I just find the idea cute.

It will be interesting to see! Even if she stays as is you can always do a concept of what she'd be like if she became an Ozkvin!

Mmhm! It's actuslly a lot easier than most people thing to make flawed characters that are likeable- I've seen a lot of complaints like "My character's not a mary sue! They're not perfect!" And then struggle to list their flaws.

Yeah, it's not great to watch that happen, especially when you got hope for said character.

True true. Fanfics are notorious for that, especially My Immortal. Have you read that? It's textbook on what not to do when writing fics
