Two main trains of thought went into designing this character:
1) A mouse named after Swiss cheese should have white fur and at the least a hole in his ear
2) It's cool when mice use normal, big-people items as if they were larger items meant for mice
So this is a Swiss Army mouse. I'm sure that earring is not regulation, so he's probably retired from duty and works as a mercenary now, having used his earnings to buy himself a good multipurpose knife.
