Hey guys, I'm a little late this week due to vacation and recovering from Pink Eye.
It's Sunday and still there is time fore the weekend. XD
Let's get to it.
Oscar Rebirth 2012 Corojo:
Wrapper: Corojo
Binder: Honduran
Filler: Honduran, Nicaraguan
Pre-Light/Construction:
Like the Connecticut, this one was the same preferences in band, except orange. The wrapper itself was a little loose, while the touch was a bit firm and yet rough. The veins and the seems were present, but made it look comfortably wrapped instead of tightly packed. Better to show some fair ground instead of strict treatment. Let's light it up!
The Burn Part 1:
From the first few puffs was a very calm and peppery. More of a medium pepper note than the Conn. from last review. More of a smokey cedar aroma coming from the retro hale. Like the Conn. before some bready notes soon came up, but more thick in body. So far things were getting roasty and good.
The Burn Part 2:
Things are beginning to heat up a bit. The Smokey Cedar notes became a little more charred, but not too up front. The pepper rose up a bit to give it more of a sinister lurking taste. At this point the bread notes started to disappear in the bg as a bit of a rich creamy note became present leveling out it's growing intensity.
The Burn Final:
With it's intensity now becoming a bit of a stand still with the cream balance, it could only calm down at this point. The pepper notes started to dwindle a little bit. The cream began to fall back as well. The charred cedar itself, the same. With the final puff, I put this little bad boy in the ashtray with a moment to think.
Verdict:
For a stick like this, it's more of a stick that not only entices you, but can show you a sense of dread on how intense things can become. The lurking of the spice that slowly came up wasn't more like a threat, but a warning on how intense it could get. It's great, but sinister. I'd say pick it up. :3
