The thing is, the problem is never the matter of pleasing everyone, that's just not going to happen. I personally think that companies SHOULD listen to the fans. The problem is that all the constructive, interesting critical arguments are buried under this hot air that makes looking for the important stuff a chore... And besides, one thing is for a fandom to have bad elements, another is when they take their "opinions" and make them into obsessions
True, though it's because they are based on what we would know as the "inkblot" style characters who are like mickey mouse, Oswald the lucky rabbit, Felix the cat, and all the betty boop cartoons.
Still, it IS a bummer but, I'm sure if we keep supporting this stuff, we'll get it.
