This one right here I've been saving until i have a lil more free time on my hands, which thankfully is now >^.^<.
I've been in more of a sketchy mood than i ever was in the past lately, and I've come up with a few i'm actually proud of. I still plan to finish the Teffy winter and Kitten winter ones when i feel like inking them.
This one I love just in pencil, so I'm not sure if i'll touch it for fear of ruining what i love about it.
That said- I finally drew a "Kitten" a LOVE. I love the shape of her eyes, her nose, the shape of her face, and even the slight curve in the ears. She looks kittenish without looking childish, and she looks sexy without being out of character.
I fixed this up in photoshop, but it still doesn't look as good as the original pencil drawing does.
Now! the help part:
I really need some help figuring out the general head shape to work from to create the same headshape when i draw her again, i want to draw different views, but i've got a mental block as to how i can translate this to a different pose!
What i really need is a redline showing the headshape on this sketch, and a general headshape in different poses they dont' need to be detailed at all, and can be loose, i'm just trying to wrap my head around duplicating this. :/ i know that's demanding, but i'm a very visual person and describing just won't do it for this.
Anyway- Comments on her new style are welcome! >^.^<
EDIT: After seeing a comment I feel I must clarify >^.^<
I really like all the proportions and the specific head shape on this sketch- i want to recreate this in other head positions. But for some reason i'm having this huge mental block on how to go about it. I have references on kitty heads and such, but i need advise on this particular head shape and proportions and general style/feel.

Well- for general reference, your best bet is to look online for kitty heads...but you need to remember to break it down into simple shapes first! Spheres, cones, etc :3
For books, Johnathan Hart has done some great cartooning books, but I also recommend Jack Hamm's "How to Draw Animals" or anything from Walter Foster :3

LOL. NO, I don't mean general references, I have some anatomy training, and i even have this great muzzle reference sheet someone else gave me. As well as some great references on different "furry" species.
My problem isn't creating ANY kitty head, its recreating this specific shape in other positions. The shape is pretty specific (as i've found from my many other sketches on the matter! XD), and i want to recreate the same look again.
But i do appreciate the thought. :/

Well, for that, I have only one word: practice.
The more you draw a shape, or basically anything, the better you become at it.
I' m in the process or training another artist, the same way, and it' s progressing very well.. (except they're lazy)
It's safe to start with three drawings a day, practice that hand as best as you can, and try not to overdo the same things over (pose, clothing, handhelds, etc.)
You can use photo reference or, like the artist I' m training does, buy your own goods. (in their case weaponry)

Then with that, you really need to make a reference sheet for your kitty there. :3
The main thing is to stay consistent with what you have from your original pic, but also, different angles and expressions to get a true 'feel' for your kitty. Thats going to take a bit more of your time and effort, but I can guarantee you that it'll be worth it IF you want to give him/her/it more definition.
Thats why I mentioned the sphere- yes, you are drawing on a 2-D surface....that doesn't mean your kitty has to be!
My 2 cents again from a former artist :P

It was pretty discouraging that 5 years after i created her, i finally found a look i liked, then i couldn't figure out how to do the different poses.

Your welcome.
I would love to help. I LOVE this cat head shape and I've been trying to incorporate it more into my own art with VERY LITTLE SUCCESS. In fact, I keep failing miserably. XD So I'm afraid I won't be much help trying to do it at different angles, I can't even do it at the angle you did!
It's very very cute and you did an awesome job. :) I think
bearbun's help is really good help, though.

All the comments above hers kept misunderstanding me! I was starting to get really frustrated. But oh MY how that is what i needed! >^.^< what everyone didn't get from my comment was that I KNOW the sphere thing and the proportions of a typical cat face (i mean i have two of them XD), but i think you get my dilema in recreating this exact shape in different poses.
<3<3 look out for my newest submission- posting the ink of a previous picture, i'm pretty proud of it
