So this is what I did to blow off some angst at university today.
Wacom tablet, Power Mac G4, OS X 10.4.8, Photoshop CS. And two hours
of self-therapy.
I started off with a base layer of light green brush to just BS and
doodle stuff, and after a half hour this fox started to coalesce. I
created a second layer that holds the gradient. Shades of orange into
black and white seemed right somehow. The gradient is painted into a
'magic selection tool' selection of the inside of the green outlining
on first layer. Last layer was simple retracing of part of the green
lines, with a little more control (I am still not used to drawing onna
tablet); also the eyes were added in. Oh yeah, and fangs. I like the fangs.
I like it. *shrug* Makes a interesting and suprsing negative space*
kinda deal. Hope it might give people an idea for next time they wanna
draw.
P.S. The phox's left ear is supposed to be a little bit droopy :)
