Riley the anthro rabbit merrily walked through the forest, a basket in hand full of delicious baked goods hiding just under the lid, their wondrous scent being the only sign of their presence.
After Riley’s previous... experience, in the woods, he had once again stopped coming to the forest for a short while. However, seeing as how both times something had happened to him during his walks he hadn’t been harmed, he figured that maybe the forest was safe after all, the snakes and monsters being harmless. Maybe.
He had started coming to the forest again, and he had, surprisingly, been able to go on several peaceful and uneventful walks so far. It was nice, being able to walk through the forest without being captured by random creatures.
Today, Riley had decided to try something different. He had bought some treats from a local bakery and decided to go on a little picnic in the woods. As he walked, the scent of his lunch coming from the basket made Riley look forward to the wonderful meal he would have...
However, Riley wasn’t the only one to be enticed by the scent. Above in the treetops, a snake waited, occasionally sticking out its tongue to smell the air. It caught familiar scent of rabbit nearby, but paid no interest; it wasn’t exactly hungry, and, surprisingly, it didn’t like the taste of rabbit.
Then, a new scent hit its tongue, an unfamiliar, yet irresistible scent, and suddenly, the snake felt a whole lot hungrier. It stealthily maneuvered its way through the trees, hunting its new prey...
Riley finally found a perfect little clearing to have lunch, surrounded by pretty flowers, and with a good amount of sunlight, with some trees providing shade if it got too hot. Riley took out a large cloth and laid it out on the ground before sitting down and setting the basket on it.
As the snake approached from above, it spotted the familiar form of a rabbit, and was confused; where was its new, delicious smelling prey? Finally, Riley opened the basket and revealed the treats he had bought: Cinnamon buns. As the basket’s lid was opened, the scent became stronger, and the snake understood what it was seeking.
Riley reached towards his lunch, ready to eat, when suddenly, the snake’s tail descended from above and wrapped around Riley’s body, pinning his arms to his sides. After a moment of shock, Riley began struggling as hard as he could against the coils holding him; although it seemed that most of the forest’s creatures were harmless, this one might not be, and Riley wouldn’t take that chance.
His struggles were futile against the overpowering strength of the snake, however, and soon Riley was wrapped from shoulders to toes in thick coils. As the head of his captor came down from the trees, Riley finally recognized the snake as an anaconda, and he froze, thinking that maybe, if he didn’t struggle, it wouldn’t crush him.
The snake, now that it had immobilized the rabbit that tried to take its prey, turned its attention towards Riley’s lunch. It licked the air with its tongue again, taking in the delicious scent of its newly earned meal before grabbing one of the cinnamon buns in its mouth, tossing it into the air, and catching it with its mouth, sending it down its throat with a single gulp. It then turned to Riley again, and gave him a gentle pet on the head for bringing such wonderful food to it.
Riley sighed, out of both relief that he hadn’t become the snake’s lunch, and disappointment that he had lost his own. Knowing that the snake wouldn’t hurt him, he relaxed into the coils around him. Surprisingly, they actually felt quite nice to the rabbit. The gentle pressure all around him, the cool, smooth scales against his fur, and the hold that allowed him to just relax without worrying about having to stand up on his own. Riley never thought that being in a horrifying predator’s clutches could feel so nice and relaxing.
As the snake snacked on another cinnamon bun, Riley watched as his picnic food went down into the snake’s belly. He let out another disappointed sigh. At least it wasn’t him being eaten, but still...
Riley was snapped out of his thought by suddenly strong scent of the treats entering his nose. He opened his eyes and saw the snake holding a cinnamon bun right in front of Riley’s face with its tail, seemingly offering it to him. Riley paused for a moment, then leaned forward a bit and took a bite.
It tasted great! No wonder the snake felt the need to steal them. The snake fed Riley the rest of the bun before giving Riley another pet on his head. This wasn’t how Riley had planned to eat lunch, but it turns out that being trapped in coils and sharing cinnamon buns with an anaconda isn’t all that bad...
