This was for a project I finished a few months back regarding the stigma Western cultures have in association with rats. Thus this piece depicts wild street rats in the roads doing what they do.
My intent here was to not show rats as overly "noble" to try and preach about how fantastic they actually are (though they are absolutely lovely, really), but rather to take a more real approach. Rather than going overboard to make them look amazing I decided to just make them look respectable, to also make the statement that there's nothing wrong with rats exactly as they are.
As with most, if not pretty much all of my pieces, this looks significantly better with different screen settings thanks to how dark it is. :/
