My first bullseye pattern. Fairly decent color balance, but poor dye penetration. Getting the dye to penetrate a bullseye seems even more difficult than getting dye to penetrate a spiral because the folds increase as you tie off the outer rings.
Again, I made this with a 100% cotton T-shirt and Tulip-brand turquoise, fuchsia and yellow dyes. I soaked the shirt in plain water (with no soda ash) and wrung it out to slightly damp before tying and dyeing.
I think I'd like to figure out what mistakes I'm making before making more attempts. I have some great design ideas, but I'd prefer the ink actually penetrate; I don't care if it penetrates perfectly and evenly (not really a concern with tie-dye anyway), as long as it actually penetrates most of the fabric and leaves very few untouched white areas.
