"So long, guys. Fighting Eggman won't be the same without you."
With the cancellation of the comic, I doubt we'll be seeing the Freedom Fighters in any further official works. But in my mind, they'll always be there protecting the Kingdom of Acorn, until the day Sonic beats Eggman for good.
...Considering how little practice drawing I've had over the past few years, this came out rather well. However, I really need to work on drawing Sonic from odd angles, and on characters standing close to each other without stepping on each other's feet...

I expect to see a lot more of the Freedom Fighters in the years to come, via fan art, fan fiction, and fan comics (including Archie Sonic Online, the comic I assume you're talking about). I'm also going to continue producing my own fan works. But for me, at least, it's not the same as seeing them in officially licensed works (I'm not quite sure why; probably just cultural conditioning, but it's still how I feel).
Sure, the post-reboot versions of the Freedom Fightes were different from the preboot versions Freedom Fighters, much like the preboot Archie Freedom Fighters were different from the SatAM Freedom Fighters. (Visually, the differences were even bigger this time, if we don't take pink Sally into account). I still enjoyed having the Freedom Fighters appear in something official, even if it was a new incarnation of them.
