Ransei was the first to crest the dune. "What's over there?" someone shouted over the howling wind from down below. The rest were still busy slipping down the sandy slope, stabbing their blades into the ground and moving slowly.
She shook the sand out of her gun and fine-tuned her sensors in an attempt to pierce the veil of airborne sand. The radio buzzed to life, maybe they thought she didn't hear them, "See anything?".
Her wings slowly extended and their force fields activated in preparation, just in case.
Nothing, for now. The wings hid behind her back once again and she continued scanning the view to the sound of sand plinking against metal...

Kryll are easily the most numerous of Teks. They may be more fragile and the sacredness of their forms forbids them from abandoning it for another, but their expertise with technology surpasses all other races. This race unites several different types, insectoids of different shapes and this is only one of them.
Kryll Stalkers are used mainly to scout ahead. Compared to everyone else, their frames are lighter and a fleshlike material used only by Kryll gives them unparalleled agility. There's no role division between Stalkers as they're made to be able to survive on their own and nothing on hand. The tails can store enough omnimass to provide them with fuel, ammo and material for self-repair, although the process is slow.
If it ever runs out, they're also equipped with a deconstructor, a piece of gear that normally only Support Units are born with. It's an imperfect replica of something that even Kryll can't reproduce, but it lets a Stalker lay in wait for practically forever, restocking using whatever it can touch.
Like all other Teks, Kryll believe what they're born as is a blessing from their god. Because their bodies are so light, their weaponry has to be too. The blades on the back are the only weapon that's attached to them, and even that can be discarded if needed. Weaponry is handheld, meant for different types and inherits a portion of the owner's soul. After enough time, it even begins to think for itself in a way its wielder does and can fire by itself, should they be unable to trigger it remotely (hence no triggers). All Kryll firearms are energy-based in order to remove the need to carry heavy ammo ready to fire, yet another exclusive piece of tech. Finally, the folding wings can emit a weak shield used mostly to glide, but can slow down or stop some projectiles.
A curious eye admires their persistence from above...
