the Lupine got adopted earlier, because they were, as the locals called them "Horses with hands" in that they could travel roads as fast as a man on horseback and once they got there, they could write down what they saw, as well as deliver messages. They became the nervous system of the satrap bureaucracy. In one of the dynastic overthrows, the bureaucracy became the ruler ship, and the Lupines ruled for a time.
Interesting. I quite like the design of the clothing. This also reminds me of a blog post written by a Korean furry fan, from which I have read that such transparent clothing worn by Sassanid courtiers (and later adopted by the Umayyad and Abbasid courts) was an introduction from India. And now that makes me wonder if your fictional world has any areas inspired by the Indian subcontinent....
There is an analogue, though it's "off camera", just as there is a China analogue to the east, referred to as "Syind". in the big Middle in the Steplands are tribal Lupines and "the threat". Defining what "The Threat" was is what stalled the story, and what would eventually conquer the Easterners. Since I could not decide/ figure out what that threat was, I could not finish the story and that was what halted any further progress. So what i am doing now is putting together what I have to release as a sourcebook for Tabletop RPG's (Dungeons & Dragons, plus others), and give the material new life in other people's hands.
