Here I am once again! Well, not exactly me, but a stunningly crafted simulacrum, made by yours truly. I am thinking about making a few dozen copies of that and posting them up in nearby trees so as to confuse any ne'er do wells that poke poke around in my neck of the woods. If I just turn my head... Like this... And hold my wings back, nobody will be the wiser! Except myself of course, oh hoh hoh!

Well in most cases it's just a short hood with a bit of pointed fabric in the back. Pretty clean and tidy. In this case I figured that something longer and more glorious might be better! I'm already breaking several wizarding laws by not wearing a pointy hat, but I got that cleared up with the archmage's council. Also, you're assuming that I waste the musclepower to fly like a bird! That would be rather silly, seeing how much we proper sorts disdain manual labour. So much better to propel oneself through the air by the flows of the wind, simply flapping one's wings occasionally to maintain appearances.
