You'll never find this much water on Arrakis.
I don't like the drawing much, but here's a recent story:
I was away at a family gathering in Canada, and we went one day to visit this little island that had good trails and swimming spots. Me and my sister waded into the water (it was freezing but felt good in the heat), and I noticed something a short ways out. She said it was probably a log and I forgot about it for the next minute.
But after that minute had passed, the 'log' had advanced towards these 2 kids playing by the rocky shore, and that's when we realized it was a water snake. We yelled to the kids and they quickly got to shore. Several other kids gathered to look, and the poor snake trying to get back on the sunny rocks had everyone blocking its way. Then some of the kids started to throw rocks at it and we had to yell at them to stop. Eventually the snake got on land, and by that point I had noticed another black ribbon shape swimming a few meters out.
They were almost entirely black - we were told that species isn't venomous, but will aggressively and repeatedly bite when provoked. We later saw another one of these water snakes, and on the trails were several harmless garter snakes. One of them even crawled out of some wooden boards right behind me when I stopped to sit by a wood shack. This island was, by far, my favorite part of the trip.
I also found this amazing (and surprisingly cheap) beautiful carved wooden fox statue. Luckiest souvenir I've ever come upon.
