This is a current WIP of my personal project that will most likely be on hold for a very long time and will take me probably months to complete. I just wanted to share it with you guys and see your thoughts on it, if any. X3
Full view is a must, and sorry about the watermark X3
About a month ago I was sitting at work with nothing to do so I turned on my MP3 player on my phone and was listening to my instrumental playlist. The longer I listened to the song Tryouts from the movie Rudy the more I just got inspired for artwork, I just didn't know what KIND of artwork.
I started to think about random different things on what the music was popping into my head and I kept thinking back to random Native American references. So I figured I could always do another Native American pic, since I had done a couple different ones in the past, but I wasn't sure what I could do for it to separate it from the others.
Well I wanted to do a digital painting for the final picture whatever that might be, something about digipainting is just so soothing and relaxing when I work so that was a no brainer. Then I thought about doing something anthro since I don't really have many "realistic" anthros in my gallery(if any right now XD). I have done many realistic animal pictures but not anthros, so that was a new challenge for this pic.
Then I started to think about what kind of animal would be best for a Native American themed picture. There are MANY kinds of animals native to the American plains and that influenced the Native American culture. Though after thinking for a while, I hadn't really seen too many bison anthros in the past and thought that a bison just might be the best for this project.
So I wanted to do something majestic looking but graceful. A bison by nature seems very clumsy but really they are a rather graceful animal. By far one of my favorite bovines. X3 So I came up with the idea to do a bison anthro as a Native American "Fancy Dancer". (for ref here's an actual pic http://www.firstamericans.org/image.....s/full/155.jpg ) Since I was a young girl I have always adored the Native American culture. I went to my first pow wow at the age of 7 and was instantly awed and entranced by all the sights and sounds.
So with all that inspiration I got to sketching. The sketch you can see here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2425671/
Gives you sort of an idea of how the clothing will look at the end, at least shape wise. The amount of details this picture is going to take is just scaring me but I am up to the challenge. XD
This is the most current WIP I have, and will update every now and then when some decent progress is made. But for now, I am getting back to my To Do list. Just wanted to share something new. ^^
