For Those Who Were Saved, and Those Who Weren't
As a twin meaning picture for both the release of the new film and the anniversary of The Evacuation at Dunkirk.
The battle was set in mid 1940 (26th, May-4th, June) between the German Wehrmacht and the B.E.F. (british Expeditionary Force) where the Germans towards the end of the French Campaign pushed the BEF and the Remaining French troops into a small town by the English Channel called Dunkirk in Northern France. Outnumbered almost 2-1 (800,000 Germans against 400,000 British and French) the Germans took advantage of the troops on the beach and strafed them and by the end killed over 100,000 total civilian and military casualties. This picture is to honor those who lost there lives fighting for the freedom of Europe and the world. This is one occasion where the true might of the British Fighting Spirit that is shown in battles like The Battle of Britain, The Battle of the Atlantic, and D-Day that no matter the odds the fight can be yours. But I think Winston Churchill put it best by saying...
