Months back, we did a machinima of us dancing in Secondlife which was to be used in the new Australian feature film "Beautuful Kate". Directed by Rachel Ward and Starring Ben mendolsohn, Rachel Griffiths and Bryan Brown.
I wasn't expecting anything major, it was just going to be a scene where one of the characters in the film is seen using secondlife as a way to socialise since they're based somewhere out in the country where there's not many people around.
Anyway, I was given this shot of the scene, and that blurry image of with
the blue mohawk as indicated by the arrow, is me.
What's possibly nicer is that I got a credit as the end, along with the others who participated in the scene.
It's nothing as stunning as the doco we recently completed (which still hasn't been shown on tv yet) but it is nice to have this tiny part in what is supposed to be, by all accounts, a really good film.
Beautiful Kate was recently screened at the Sydney Fim Festival, and will be seen in local cinemas in August, and then will be picked up overseas.

Update, The Movie is on DVD in Australia, you can buy it through any DVD shop. Of course it's region 4 and PAL, but would play on any computer. I really liked the film.
Basically the Father is dying and he's way out in the outback with the older sister, they've asked the son to come home and be there when dad passes on. and a family secret comes out into the open... That the brother and sister were having a relationship, including sex, in their youth. The subject is handled really well I thought.
Anyway, My avatar was on screen for 30 seconds and I was paid $20 for it, How many can say they were in a feature film and were paid $20 for every 30 seconds that they were in the film? OK, you don't tell them everything ;)
