The Journeys of Iria the Astrocartographer: 0, Introduction
I'm gonna try and write tiny story segments like this of Iria exploring random planets from now on. They'll probably be lewd most of the time, just because i'm like that. Anyways, all the characters in this chapter belong to me.

I’ve decided to start recording my journeys in my ship log to kill spare time between trips on the stargazer. It’ll hopefully help make the trips a little more interesting while there’s nothing better to do. While I’m headed to my first destination of today, I thought i’d make an introduction to the system by explaining how my day went on my home planet Reatha, since it counts as an interesting planet to me. Though not too much interesting happened, I’ll explain the process of getting everything ready to go.
Iria sat up and stretched on her bed, yawning loudly, her fangs bare to the dark room before she opened her eyes and stared at the clock. The sun had yet to rise still, and her alarm was 14 minutes from going off. She stared at the clock for a bit, then at her bed, wondering if it was worth the extra 14 minutes - now 13 minutes - to even get more sleep. She shook her head then, and swung her paws over the side of her bed, and turned the alarm off early, thinking it was better just to get up now anyways. She stood up and stretched again, and heard a little squeak behind her. Viri, her little pet, had woken up with her it seems, stretching on the bed herself before hopping and flapping up to sit on Iria’s shoulders. Iria let out a little purr, and scritched the little thing’s head before padding out of the room.
She opened the door, and closed it behind her, silent as ever. She then peeked into Illuna’s her robotic daughter’s, room. She appeared to be sleeping, but Iria knew better.
“Sweetie, time to get ready for work.” Iria said through the door.
“Mmmph… isn’t it a little early for that?” She complained, not unlike an organic kat might.
“Only by 10 minutes or so. C’mon sweetie. We’ll get some breakfast and go.”
“Fine…” She sighed. Iria then walked away from the door, and seconds later Illuna stepped out behind her to follow. They walked down the shallow ramp to the lower floor, and made it to the kitchen, where Iria made her and Illuna a couple simple meals, and gave Viri some kibble. Despite not really needing it, Illuna devoured the food almost the same minute she received it. Iria spent her sweet time eating the food, looking for where she left her suit cube while she did so.
“Do you know where my suit is, Illuna?” She asked.
“Did you leave it in the bathroom after your shower last night?”
“That sounds about right… We’ll leave once I get it on.”
“Okay, i’ll wait outside for you.” Illuna then left for the front door while Iria made her way back up the ramp to the bathroom, where indeed, her suit was shuffled off into a corner of the room. She picked it up, and Viri jumped off her shoulder and flew next to her while she put it on. Pressing the small button on one side of the cube, it melted in her hands, and crept up her arm and around her body until she was completely contained by the nano-goo, minus her head. The goo then reshaped and hugged her tighter, changing into her normal space suit, covering everything below her head, and getting around every curve and between each finger and toe. Her fur was then all straightened beneath it, and Viri got back onto her shoulder. She looked at herself in the mirror, making sure everything was still there, and made her way back downstairs, her suit changing suddenly into casual clothing while they were in public. She stepped outside, and the door locked behind her.
“Alright, let’s go~” Iria said, getting down the stairs and into the driveway. “Shall we drive, or would you rather skate?”
“I wanna skate~ The sun’s coming up right now”
“Okay then.” Iria agreed, and then lifted each paw one at a time, neither of which were wearing shoes, then below them formed a row of wheels from her suit, held magnetically in place below her. The same went for Illuna. “Alright, let’s go~” They then started skating down the peaceful roads, towards the spaceport, where their ship was landed. The trip itself was quiet, and very pretty with the soft, rising sun. The plants around the city were a vibrant blue and green at this time.
When they finally arrived at the spaceport, they stopped skating, and walked through the security checks in a few minutes. It didn’t take them long after that to get to the hangar their ship was in, which was also filled to the brim with hundreds of other ships of different shapes and sizes. The size of their ship paled in comparison to most others, so it was hard to spot right away, but once they found it, the prominent name “Stargazer” written across the hull popped out with familiarity. They made their way over, and the steps extended out on their own as they approached. Once they set foot inside the Stargazer, the hatch closed behind them, and the hals lit up with dozens of holograms and lights. All the holograms had something different to show, whether it be art, settings, or ship status.
“Alright. Illuna, can you check all the ship stats while I get the bridge prepped? Just like always.” Iria asked.
“Sure thing.” Illuna agreed, and went to the control board of the bridge, while Iria went to the navigation board. Viri hopped off her shoulder, and sat on her bed right next to Iria’s chair.
“Mmmph… Morning you guys. You’re here a little earlier than normal.” Iria turned around to see Aeruna walking out of the crew room. She was another robot, though she was a mish-mash of several different functions meant perfectly for exploring planets.
“Oh, Morning Aeruna. Sorry to wake you early.” Iria giggled.
“Nah, it’s fine. Let me know if you need any help.”
“We should be good. You kept the ship nice clean while we were at home.” Iria thanked. “And sorry for not getting a charging area for you at the house yet. I just need to find the time to do so when we’re still there.”
“Oh no, it’s fine. Don’t worry about it. There’s a nice little area for me here while you get it up.”
“Okay. It will be done though, i promise.”
“All systems are operational, Iria, and all ship parts are at 100% integrity, like always.” Illuna notified.
“Okay, let’s take off then. Our first destination is about 40 minutes off. A commissioned planet from the ATLAS Observatory again.” Iria explained.
“Alright.” Illuna said.
“40 minutes? That’s a good distance off.” Aeruna said. The Stargazer was capable of 1 Megaparsec per second travel at it’s top speed.
“Yeah. Not the farthest we’ve gone though. I’m hoping it’ll be something interesting and not a dead rock again. ATLAS tends to find interesting places.” Iria said. “Let’s take off then. No point in waiting around.” Iria then lifted the ship off the ground of the hangar, and flew it out slowly. Once they were clear, the ship shot upwards into the sky, and into orbit. Once they were in a good position to launch out, the front window blurred, and it was filled with streaks of light from stars passing them.
That’ll wrap up this entry. It’ll give some idea of how things are started in the morning to when we lift off. I’ll make a new entry on our way home.
