I wish I could see this piece in a higher resolution and really admire all the detail you no doubt put into it! But even as it is, I still like it a whole lot. Your great use of lighting and colour, and your knowledge of composition, is really displayed here! The sparks and the smoke could easily overshadow this strange, fearsome beast's appearance here, but you've balanced it very well! Using the sun and spark's lighting to 'outline' the beast really works well to that end! And I particularly like the way (and am curious if it's intentional?) the smoke and this beast form a sort of 'double-helix' shape as it ascends from the sparks, to this dark, eclipsed sun!

I am also just very fond of dark themed pieces, so maybe I am little biased, haha.
Still, great work here as well! :D
