Hunka Hunka Death Dealing Machine (Sniper and SMG combo)
It was mentioned earlier that an SMG may work well with the Sniper/Assualt Rifle combo gun but then it occured to me it wouldn't be the 'Sniper/Assault Rifle Combo gun' but a Sniper/SMG combo gun.
Its pretty much the same gun just altered the front mag so it would be more 'SMG-ish'.
The sniper rifle half is still the .338 Lapua and i decided for the SMG half to have the 5.7x28mm. It has good penetration good yardage (50 yards) and I researched and most everything else i saw didn't really look good.
Other than that I had trouble researching do to a 'distraction' called my brother. Otherwise i porbably would have researched a bit more.

Oh, i had in my mind the SMG half would serve as a backup weapon in case close quarters combat was to occur. It was the same way with the Assault rifle and shotgun 'pairing' there was always a built in secondary weapon to compliment the first in some way.

CQC would be pretty bad for this weapon, although at least the SMG portion would be of a major assistance. Potentially you could make a design of this that made it much more CQC, what with a shorter frontal section along with no bipod and that would increase the portability of the weapon.

Ah, I'll keep that in mind when I get the chance to do some more designing. I can shorten it but I don't think shortening the weapon will benefit the sniper portion of it.
Cool. I may just redo the Sniper/SMG as a AR/SMG since the sniper segment isn't very useful in Close Quarters Combat.

Ank, you apparently never have heard a plane refered to as a 'gun ship' before have you? Some helicopters and planes that (can) provide support or be called in for support are/can be refered to as a 'gun ship.'

-shrugs- i dunno why other than the military has different terms for EVERYTHING. But meh, every site i've looked on to confirm that i wasn't misunderstanding says that the AC-130 is a 'gun ship' since the term 'gun ship' has a navy term and a aviation term it could be the branch you're in just doesn't use the term to avoid confusion. -shrugs-
