The Mucha pieces are pseudo-iconographic, incorporating central themes from the main subject as supporting elements. It's not really intended as a "backstory" so much as a representation of the yinglet themes in the comic.

But I'll take the goddess of transforming people into yinglets interpretation, too - that's fun!
