Finally completed this knife and sheath for a trade deal.
Have not heard back from the guy I am trading with, and I hope he has not flaked on me.
We'll just have to see.
Carbon steel blade, some nice walnut for the grip, and blued steel fittings.

I had mis-measured it, by a tiny amount but could not tell until after it was skived and wet formed into shape.
I made a different sheath that was slightly wider for the seax it was originally intended for and set this one aside.
I rarely throw anything away, and I knew this one could be repurposed for a different knife one day.
So that worked out well.
The brass turret stud is the sole one left over from before Tandy changed the design in the late 80s or early 90s.
I had it forever, and couldn't use it. Most of the projects I do that take this style of stud mount for straps require a matched pair.
However, I had to make this to match a knife the customer has so his wife could have one, and it turned out that that brass stud is the same production as this old one thats been sitting in my leather supplies box for over 25 years.
I even still had the special setting anvil it requires to peen the shaft end correctly.
So a perfect match....Against almost impossible odds.
Sometimes I amaze myself at my own luck....
The knife grip is a piece of black walnut.
It actually has some really nice tiger striping in the grain that does not show up in my photos, because its very subtle.
Nicely finished in beeswax and paraffin, rubber in hot over a low, open flame.
I put a lot of work and heart into this one.
I really hope I hear back from this guy, because I'm very proud of the job I did.

I always have a bit of confusion/time warp reaction when Turok is mentioned.
See, I read the comic Turok, son of stone in the early 70s when it was published by Charlton.
It went away for decades, and came back as Turok, dinosaur hunter or some such title.
But it was definitely not the story I remembered.
I'm not familiar with the modern incarnations of Turok, because of my memories, and the desire to avoid most reboots or classic stories and characters.
Ah, the memories...
