In a normal year we had just 1 or 2 blackouts...
we had between 102 to 120 kms/h deppending the source
just when i went out my house, literally, the power failed in half city. When i was watchiong Depicable me 3, at 100 mts of the cinema started a total blackout zone...

A DAY IN RED
Life as a soldier is just as tough and hard as one would think. The amount of training and mental practice required to be a top soldier is very hard and enduring but that's only because it isn't a job for everyone. Everyday someone signs up to become a soldier as they know if they don't do it then who will? Someone has to come and defend their country if a war ever breaks out.
But what allows a soldier to push themselves to such an extreme? They're well aware that if they fail their mission that their lives could be gone but why keep going? Thinking of all their loved and cherish ones gives them strength to keep going as they don't want to see anything happen to them ever. All of that and more could be applied to a certain soldier fox by the name of Marcos Fox. While his parents and older sister were more well known for being pilots, this fox found a special place fighting on the ground.
The start of his day was quite a normal one. Since Stacy wasn't home with him today he woke up with a bit less energy than what he normally would have. But even with less energy he was able to get out of his bed and do his usual morning things with ease. As always, he checked his messages to see what was sent his way and as per usual it was a mix of funny things from Kurfust, silly things from Stacy, and Valentina making sure he was up or else she would fly over to kick his butt. His messages were normally enough to put a smile on his face as he could always use a good laugh.
After giving his body a quick wash, Marcos went ahead and got dressed as now he needed something to eat. Everyday the base made sure to give their soldiers plenty of food to eat as they understood how tiring and draining the practice was. But unlike most soldiers Marcos's ride wasn't a car or a bus. It was his trusty bike that he had for many years. But unfortunately for him he had to send his bike off for a few repairs meaning he would be walking to work today. That didn't bother him in the slightest as that only gave him another reason to eat even more and he loved to eat.
Using the time that he had, Marcos prepared himself a large breakfast as he needed all the energy he could get. Pancakes, ATR eggs, ATR bacon, ATR sausages, ATR pork chops, and a glass of orange juice was just half of the things Marcos prepared himself as he knew he wouldn't be satisfied for with a meal for one. Just the smell of his food was enough to make him drool a little as it was ready to be eaten and his mouth was gonna have fun chewing up and devouring everything in sight.
After moving all the food to the kitchen table, Marcos immediately started chomping down on his food as he just couldn't bring himself to wait any longer. The first bite was all he needed to take to know that this was worth the wait. It was cooked to his ideal liking and the orange juice helped in washing down anything that didn't go down as fast as he would like. If he had the choice to he would of spent his entire morning cooking and eating but he knew that there was a time and place for everything and right now he needed to finish up his food quickly and head straight for the base. This wasn't much of an issue as despite Marcos being a fox, his friends often joked about how he was like two bears ready to hibernate. When it was eating time Marcos would always clear all his plates and today was no exception.
Finishing up the last of his food. Marcos quickly loaded the dishes into the dish washer before grabbing his stuff and going. Now he could finally get to work and start his day off.
As he walked through the streets of Griffon City he couldn't help but wonder just what should he do today. Normally he would be cruising through the streets on his bike, having to much fun to even think of what his plans were. But unfortunately for him, he was bikeless and needed something to pass the time. If Stacy wasn't at work by time he got off then spending time with her would be very fun. She always gave him a fun time whenever she was around and never once felt like a burden or someone trying to get something out of him. Even if she wasn't home, he had a spare key to her apartment so he could let himself in and make her something to eat, assuming his stomach didn't have its way with her food first.
With the idea of visiting Stacy after work in his mind, he made sure to text her a message telling her he would be over after work that way when she woke up she would read his message and have something to look forward to.
While he was walking he noticed that Griffon City was VERY different during early morning. The streets weren't as packed and everything was relatively quiet. That probably explained why he was even able to hear himself think despite being so close to where the cars drive. Barely a few minutes into his trip and already he was noticing a lot of differences between riding his bike and walking.
After a fairly long walk and quite the wait, Marcos finally arrived to his destination. Soldiers, pilots, instructors, and many more were still entering the gate meaning Marcos wasn't late after all. Since that was the case he knew right away what he would be doing and a large grin was on his face.
Walking deeper into the base, Marcos made his way over to the dining hall as he still had room leftover for some more food. The walk used up a lot of the food in his stomach so he decided to get some more. But right away he noticed that the line for breakfast was longer than normal. This was to be expected since walking is slower than biking but on his way here he didn't realize that. Not only was the line long but most of the seats seemed to already been taken. Hopefully the same wouldn't apply to the food.
As he was waiting in the line for food he couldn't help but here some discussion going on as for what their training would be like for their day. Apparently it was the usual push-ups, sit-ups, combat training, target practice, role rehearsal, laps around the base, teamwork practice. To the normal civilian that sounded like a lot, and it was, but to the soldiers here it was the norm. War wasn't anything easy to handle so why would their practice be anything different? They needed to be prepared for what was to come and anyone who couldn't handle this wasn't likely to make it as a soldier.
Thinking of how some people might of thought this would be overdoing it made him wonder just how would Stacy react to seeing him practice. Over the course of time Stacy slowly started to learn and accept the things Marcos had to do. She was very open minded about the fact that he did kill others but only because it was to protect. Just like how she understood that at anytime he could come back hurt or not all but she accepted that. Just knowing that she supported him and was able to stand by his side no matter what just gave him another reason to keep fighting. Knowing there was someone to come home to and love him just made him feel like he could do anything.
However, he wasn't open about how he felt when he was around other soldiers. Despite the fact that other soldiers likely had families, wives, kids, or just loved ones in general, he wanted to come off as a tough guy. Being a fox not many people really thought of him as much. Foxes weren't the strongest species and they most certainly weren't the fastest. When it came to notable traits foxes really didn't have much to offer when looking at the basics. But Marcos wanted to prove those numbers wrong. He knew if a fox really pushed himself to the limits and tried their hardest that they could be just as good as any other soldier. And in a way he was slowly proving this. When compared to a normal fox Marcos would most likely seem as if he was mixed with another animal but the truth was this was due to all the hard work and dedication he had for wanting to prove to everyone that a fox had what it took.
With all he the things he brought to the table came a downside. Ever since he was a young pup Marcos suffered from have very low stamina. His lungs aren't very big compared to other foxes which tends to leave him physically drained pretty quickly. Over the course of time he has trained his lungs to be a lot stronger than what they use to be but he feels as if there's even more room for them to improve.
His thoughts helped him pass the time as next thing he noticed was that it was his turn to get some food. His tray was in hand and there was nothing on it. That needed to be changed as he was a tall fox with a large stomach. His tongue licked his lips as he was gonna have himself quite the feast to eat.
Once his tray was filled with food he started to make his way over to the tables as he needed some place to eat at. As he was walking he noticed that not as many seats were filled up as they were originally. It seemed a lot of the other soldiers finished up on eating or talking and headed straight to wherever they needed to go. He wasn't gonna complain as them leaving gave him a spot to sit at.
One of the tables he noticed was relatively clear minus one other fox sitting there. He seemed to be a mute as all he was doing was eating his food and not paying any attention to those around him. Being the usual joker that he was, he couldn't help but go over to the other fox and try to chat with him a little. At the very least, he wanted to see if he could get the guy to smile or something.
Sitting next to the other fox, Marcos started to eat some of hid food as he didn't want to jump straight into a conversation. He wanted to slowly work one onto the fox as that seemed best.
After eating some of his breakfast, Marcos looked over to the other guy and asked him how the pancakes were. To his surprise, the other fox quickly responded in what seemed to be a normal way. He didn't sound sad or anything and he wasn't overly happy either. The fox was likely just sitting here enjoying his breakfast and had nothing wrong with him. But even if that was the case, it was unlike Marcos to leave someone sad as he knew he probably could of did something to cheer them up.
Once both boys finished eating there food, they said their goodbyes as they empty their trays and headed their separate ways. As of now, Marcos was in a relatively happy and jolly mood. But he knew just like everyone else that the moment training started everyone's face would turn into one of stress and pain. Practice and training wasn't anything to smile at and he knew that this smile would soon disappear the moment he got to the fields.
Just as he thought, training was just as hard and draining as always. The instructor wasted no time in getting all the soldiers lined up and spaced out as foolishness and childishness was something that wouldn't be tolerated. Luckily for the soldiers, the training was something they did everyday so their bodies were very use to the pain. A lot of sweat, blood, and endurance was needed if anyone wanted to complete the whole day. From push-ups, to sit-ups, and all the way to combat training, Marcos was ready for it all and never once felt like quitting. With his friends he maybe a funny and cheerful guy but during moments like this he was almost unrecognizable. A lot of people question if Marcos is really a soldier because he is very goofy and isn't very serious when he is first met. But that's only because he uses all his free time to enjoy himself to the fullest. Even when he's with other soldiers, he tries to put a smile on their face from time to time to remind them that there's always something to be happy about. Just having a little fun during the hard times can give motivation to keep going as it reminds you of what lies beyond the moment. So even if Marcos's job required him to be very serious and professional, he understood when he had to be serious and when he could have fun.
Once the standard exercises were out of the way, it was time for a little combat practice. Despite his tall and semi slim build, Marcos was quite the experience fighter. The army taught him basic hand to hand combat and he practiced his fighting skills every time he was given the opportunity to. It also helped that he had a training partner in the name of Dora Klendathu as well. She was a very good rival for the fox as she held nothing back and gave it her all whenever she went head to head with the fox. But there was only one small issue whenever they fought. Dora, being a police officer, was trained to subdue her targets. Very often she would have to knock out criminals without really harming them to bring them in. But Marcos was a different case. When your life is always on the line you are taught in ways of effective killing. On Marcos is no exception. No matter how big or small his opponent is, Marcos was taught what was the best and most effective way to kill them. This would often conflict with Dora's fighting style as Marcos himself couldn't go all out without seriously hurting her. So in some ways, his practice wasn't as good as it could of been, but Dora was still skilled enough to keep him on his toes and that was all he needed to be able to stay on his toes.
After clearing his thoughts, Marcos looked in front of him and noticed who his opponent was. It was a cheetah and that alone gave him plenty of notes to go off of. Being a cheetah meant he was very fast on his toes and could close the distance between them very quickly meaning that having breathing room wasn't much of an option here. Another note about cheetahs that he knew was that they were frailer than most other "big cats". Since they didn't have as much meat on their bones they didn't exactly take hits as well as other felines could. All of that wasn't even mentioning the lack of stamina they had meaning that if they didn't close things out quickly then they would be in trouble. No matter how many cheetahs he encountered, he knew most of them had a limit cap at five minutes. But that wasn't counting in the fact that every hit would slowly drain a little of his energy. This would be an interesting battle for Marcos and he knew that as long as he kept track of the timer in his head then he would ultimately win as long as he doesn't let this feline dictate the paste of the fight.
Several minutes had went by since combat training started and in that time everyone was starting to feel weak. But that was usually the case as making it all the way through the exercise and practice would drain the toughest of soldiers. This was also the end of their training so if they wanted to head home now they could. But Marcos knew if he was going to visit Stacy then at the very least he could go and shower to avoid smelling like a skunk for the bunny.
One relaxing shower later brought out a completely new and fresh smelling Marcos as the fox was now ready to head to his girlfriend's place for some fun and loving moments. He grabbed his stuff and said his goodbyes as he started his walk out of the base and slowly into the city.
His walk through Griffon City was drastically different compared to how it was this morning. There were a bunch of cars roaring through the street and many other civilians walking the sidewalk with him. This was what he was normally use to as in the morning he was usually focused on just having fun on his bike.
Since he was heading to Stacy's place he had to take a different route than what he normally took. Her place was slightly longer away than his place so that meant he would have an even longer wait but knew it would be worth it. Just seeing her happy and adorable face was enough for him to rise from the grave and just tickle her all day. She had such an adorable laugh that made tickling her all the more fun.
Speaking of adorable, Marcos started to hear something that distracted him from her adorable laugh. It sounded like.....someone yelling out for help? Marcos's ears perked up as he started to dash in the direction the noise was coming from. The noise was getting louder and louder and also clearer as well. Snickering was also mixed in and it sounded like multiple different laughs. Could it be a gang attacking an innocent bystander? He didn't know for sure but understood that he wasn't going to stand for his.
Following the sound of distress lead him to an alley where he saw a group of raccoons tossing a purse around over a female turtle. It seemed as if they were toying with her and messing with the fact that she wasn't fast enough to get her purse back from them. They laughed and taunted her which honestly enraged Marcos. He didn't want to just sit back and watch and decided to take matters into his own hands.
Immediately, he ran over to one of the raccoons and slugged him in the back of the head knocking him unconscious. The bag was immediately held still as they turned their heads to see what just happened. Realizing that one of their boys was just knocked out by this fox pissed them off as he was getting in the way of their fun. Knuckles could be heard cracking all around as they were itching for a fight. But little did they know Marcos was ready for them all.
Right away one of the raccoons lunged himself over to Marcos but he was to smart to allow such a simple and braindead tactic work on him. He ducked over the lunged attempt and quickly jabbed the raccoon's stomach before tossing him aside and leaving him on the ground holding his stomach. Realizing that a one on one approach wasn't a smart idea, two raccoons came at Marcos as this time they decided to attack together as they would easily be able to overpower one fox together. Two fist were swung in Marcos's direction but using his superb agility, the fox was able to flip over the two raccoons with ease. Using the fact that they were both surprised by what just happened, Marcos swung one of his legs across one of the raccoon's leg, sweeping them off the ground. The sequence was to fast for him to keep up with and he wasn't able to catch himself in time. The other raccoon didn't understand just what was going on. How was this one fox able to beat them so effortlessly? Enraged by this fact, he pulled out a switch blade and swung it at Marcos. Being experienced at how to handle weapons, Marcos wasn't nervous at all. He knew that hesitating when tense moments were upon him was how he could get killed. So a leveled head was what he needed in order to fight without harm. Quickly, Marcos moved his hand underneath the armed Raccoons's hand gripped onto it with all of his might. He applied enough pressure to the raccoon's hand to where it opened up and dropped the knife. The raccoon looked Marcos in the eye as he had no idea as to what was about to happen next. Little did he know was that a swift kick to the side of his head was soon to come as he was quickly dropped onto the ground. Now all that was left was the raccoon with the purse in his hand. He was shaking in fear and wasn't sure what to do. But he decided that if he gave the purse back then maybe he could get off easy. With that mindset, he handed the turtle back her purse as he tried to run off for his safety. But Marcos didn't allow that as he quickly chopped the raccoon on side of his neck, thus knocking him out. The turtle was very satisfied with Marcos helping her and decided to reward him. But Marcos wasn't really interested in any reward or anything. He was just happy to help. But at the very least she told him how appreciative she was to him and Marcos was able to leave knowing he made someone's day all the more better.
Finally after a long and tiring walk to Stacy's house, Marcos pulled out his spare key and unlocked the door only to notice that the inside of her house was pitch black. He rubbed his hand onto the wall in search for the light switch as he was wondering just where it could be. Slowly but surely, he managed to find where the light switch was and turned the lights on. As soon as the lights were cut on he noticed that he actually wasn't alone. Sitting on a chair waiting for him was Stacy dressed only in a bathroom robe. She had a angry look on her face as Marcos shut the door and slowly approached her.
"Hey there Buns. You're looking quite....mad actually. Something's wrong? I can help with whatever."
Stacy got off of the chair and walked over to the fox as she looked up at him. "You did plenty already Marcos. How about you help me retrieve my purse from some raccoons?"
Marcos raised an eyebrow for a moment before realizing just what she meant by that. "YOU KNOW ABOUT THAT?! HOW?!" Marcos asked in complete awe.
"I know about it, you know about, EVERYBODY WHO WATCHES THE KNOWS ABOUT! Marcos, you're such a big idiot! But I'm so proud of you that you helped that poor woman. Who knows what could of happened if you weren't there?"
Now Marcos was confused as Stacy pulled a 180 and was no longer mad at him all of a sudden. "Wait, you aren't mad at me?"
"Oh no, I am mad at you. But I'm extremely glad to see you are feeling well! But why don't we just stop talking and get straight to business? You had a long and hard day of work and i want you to feel relaxed. So just pull this rope off and lets get started shall we?"
Marcos's ears perked up as that sounded like something he could support. "Oh now we're talking!" Lifting Stacy up, he gave her a big kiss on the cheek before carrying her off to her room. Even despite his long and tiring day from work, he always knew Stacy would be waiting for in his time of need. He couldn't ask for a more loving girlfriend as Stacy was all he could ever ask for.
But darwed Marcos to do some happy
