I talk a big game about my characters -- about how they have certain traits, tropes, and characteristics they have without putting them on display. However, for Merceau I spoke mostly of two things. He's a massive flirt, and he's a consummate mercenary.

Hopefully this pic by  Scrappyvamp will get the second across, because I sure as hell think it does.

They did fantastically when portraying Merceau Rongeur mid-battle; moving with ease, firing without hesitation, and always confident in his abilities. As a gunner, he thinks more tactically than other fighters; using his pistols to disarm, trip up, and maneuver the enemy as needed.

Indeed -- he's not just a pretty face; he's a warrior, and treats each battle calmly, as he would any encounter, enjoying what comes and adapting on the fly.

'Love and war are both battles, non? I will not lose in either, you will see!'

Besides; who can't appreciate someone who'd fight for you like he could?

Done by  Scrappyvamp for their Iron Artist challenge and -GOD DAMN- did they knock it out of the park. I absolutely adore what they did here as they caught the faebeast in his natural setting -- indulging himself in combat both for coin and pleasure... anything to keep himself by his own means.

...maybe one day I'll write a story about that.
