Vanguard are large, but not *that* large, so he probably wouldn't take up the challenge Although warriors aren't always known for their brains, they're excellent tacticians so would tend to avoid an enemy if they were outgunned. Good size comparison here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2334971/

I don't really adhere to that whole 'macro' thing, and bio-mechanics would indicate anything that evolved on a high-gravity planet would be strong and stocky, not huge in size. The idea is that the Vanguard are effectively what something like the alien equivalent of a Allosaur would evolve into.

Better to shoot from the hip than to have a thick upper lip, but I will rock out none the less. i have to say your engineers are more intriguing to me than the warrior types. Maybe it's all the pornos that start with a knock on the door: "I'm here to fix your _____".

As I said to someone else, perhaps he desires your delicious face to hump, rather than have? You're right, there could be worse ways to kick the bucket than being humped to death by a drooling, puffing mountain of alien lizard!
The artist did a great job of the scales, actually, without going into a lot of detail she made it look very reptilian using a simple, but effective style. This is one of my favorite pics, actually. Thanks for the lovely comment
