Thanks to a lack of other employment opportunities, Derek's forced to work as a mechanic in the Vore-themed restaurant Chompers, where he, due to having to wear the place's uniform, is frequently mistaken for one of the waitstaff and subsequently consumed. Unfortunately he isn't very fond of Vore at all, so this is usually met with quite vocal complaints and struggles. Grumpy and misanthropic, he tries his best to hide his hobbies such as cooking and painting, always trying to find a better job and trying to avoid the local predators.
