Hey guys, last one for the month.
Going with the one stick that alot of people have been showing
off on social media.
Oscar Habano:
Wrapper: Ecuador (Habano)
Binder: Honduras
Filler: Honduras and Nicaragua
Pre-Light/Construction:
From the glance at the box, the sticks were individually divided by the boxes cedar segments. Covering a majority of the stick itself just below the band was a green Candella leaf. Giving it more of a fresher look like a fresh pea pod. Uncovering the Candella leaf from the stick let off a bit of a spicy and cedar note. The wrapper itself was a very nice and dark habano color. A bit of shine from the light oiled wrapper as well. The seems were practically invisible while the veins were slightly present. Let's light it up!
The Burn Part 1:
The first few puffs were great in smoke development. There was a lot of earthy and floral notes to begin with. A slight light black pepper note soon came into the mix. As far as the body would go, I'm think the average medium to full at this point, b/c it should pick up. Soon some semi sweet cocoa notes soon come by and even the balance for the beginning of the 1st 3rd. So far, so good.
The Burn Part 2:
As the stick went down, the earthy floral notes were still vibrant as the first light up began. The light pepper notes began to expand and build up. They still lingered even from the retro hale. The semi sweet cocoa notes started to become a little more lighter as each puff came and went. sort of a mellow point, but still building up. Still holding up, the body is becoming more in between the medium and full.
The Burn Final:
AS the ending comes near, the pepper notes started to dwindle a bit leaving more room for the raosty notes to develop. The earthy floral notes started to go up slightly leaving the cocoa notes the same level. over all the body itself is in the mid stages of being full, but nothing to give my head a run for it's money. With the final draw coming to an end. The notes to finish the flavor race was the earthy floral notes.
Verdict:
With the new expansion from Oscar has alot of promise with the blends, including the other blends from other reviews with Jim Robinson's Leaf blend. With newer stuff coming out in the future, I look forward to tasting anything Oscar can dish out. The Habano itself is look a firm and gripping handshake, you know it's coming from a tough individual, but they show you respect from the good gripped handshake. This stick is something to try and admire IMO. IF you see some, grab you a few.
