So, yeah, I'm a huge huge huge fan of Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo, and, I knew I was going to meet Stan again at Comic-Con this year. On Preview night, I gave him the 11x14 pencil lineart for this piece, and on Friday he gets the finished color version. As happy as he was with the pencil piece, I really hope he enjoys the color. I know I love how it came out, and as similar as it is to my "Sakai Jironato" piece, I still enjoy how I was able to blend both mine and Stan's styles to make his character come out in this one.

Actually, Usagi Yojimbo is older than TMNT, and Stan Sakai, who has done the Usagi Yojimbo comic from the start, is friends with Eastman and Laird, who created TMNT, back when that was a comic book, too. Usagi has guest-starred in both TMNT animated series, as well as the comics, and the Turtles have guest-starred in the Usagi Yojimbo comics, too, even though they aren't in the same story universe.
