I've been seeing a trend in stars presented as though they were hanging from clouds. I thought I'd play with the idea and turn them on their heads.

Hehe, I can definitely see the dying bulbs!
I do love upside-downness. Perhaps it's my love of songs and poems such as Peter Gabriel's "Up" and Silverstein's "Where the Sidewalk Ends"
It's fun to play with perspective. I'm reading techniques and practicing in my sketchbook so that I cna do more complicated pieces along those ideas.

many years ago I drew a picture for Bernhard Doove's "South Fur Lands" magazine, playing with that silly cliché of people Down Under hanging upside down from the ceiling or something. this time it was a 'roo hanging from the ceiling of a german airport bulding musing about the onboard catering. XD
but somehow the upside-down xmas tree was caught better by the audience. :P
