gatekat's character, Tyber, and his rearing dragon-horse mount. Normally I can't draw rearing horses for the LIFE of me, though I think I pulled it off this time. :) Quite glad, for this was another learning experience!

yes, rearing horsie looks good. :) but admit it, you sought an excuse to draw sheath! XD
no really, great detailing, great overall looks, and nicely done design of armoury and clothes. the horse head looks good, too. he* I guess that one can't be bribed with a carrot, unless it's stuffing for a bunny, eh? :)

Hah, not quite. Animal sheaths never have been anything more than additional pieces of anatomy for me. ;) I'm not the type that gets excited by them.
Thank you. :) Horses were always a particular favorite of mine to draw. I don't get to draw feral horses enough these days!

Yeah, I took a few riding lessons, and then I got my own horse, which was great until he started getting out of control and needing re-training beyond my experience level. :( I sold him last fall because I couldn't afford to keep him anymore. But oh well. He was a learning experience anyway. :)
aww. it's always tough to give away a long-term animal companion. :(
for a time I used to have a horse who was like, "don't touch me!" in a tipsy way. then I thought, maybe he wants to get aquainted with the various riders, so I took my time before getting him ready for the lessons. when I wanted to go and get the gear he stopped me firmly by putting the soft flesh between corner-of-mouth and jaw muscles to my cheek. it felt so good I almost wept. we were like best pals after that, a curious surprise to the teacher. :)
I was making plans to buy him when he was sold to someone else, and left the stable soon after that. :/
