Wow, the pink outline is really awesome and I like how it ends half-way up the ears, as if a blue light takes over, like there are pink and blue lights out of view as well as in the background.
Also, the pose and face really looks like he's just popped up to say "Hello!" and this is more evident with what looks like a person in the reflection of the eye.

Yes! That's exactly the effect I wanted to achieve with the bright rim lighting. I felt it helped the character stand out better, which is really important for icons like these specifically. c:
