Almost forgot about this one in the Pre AC Rush!
A couple months ago I was commissioned by Painter Magazine, the official magazine for the program I use to digitally paint, to do a short Art Study on painting mythical animals. I was on a huge time crunch because I went WAY overboard with what I was assigned to do and as a consequence, areas in the painting look rushed.
In the article, I explain how to draw and paint this unicorn and the gryphon you see here as well as a couple other little doodads that I may upload here. For those of you who have been asking for tutorials from me, go get the magazine! It should be on sale in the UK (as of June 18th) and should hit bookstores in the US in a couple weeks. If you happen to go looking for the issue this iis in, you may find the previous issue, where I have a small feature of my work in the back, along with an interview.
And should you wait too long...well..I have a much smaller article in July's issue as well on painting fur, clouds, and leaves. But it's really really small :3
SO yeah, check out your local Borders, Barnes and Noble, or what ever large bookstore might be near you and grab a copy.
Edit: THe winged unicorn and gryphon were requested by the editor to be in the same composition.
