I did this about three blocks from the Blue mosque (Sultan Amed mosque), one of the great mosques of Islam. Behind me in the photo is the old Hagia Sophia, a third-century cathedral build by emporer Constantine in 330 A.D. It was converted to a mosque in the 1200's and is now an internationally recognized museum of architecture.

Fursuiting in Istanbul was an amazing experience, and everyone wanted to get a picture. The restaurant and shop owners all wanted me to visit their restaurant, and they would call out, asking me to come in, promising free food or beer if only I would meet their staff and their customers! I was not able to make it very far down the street before a couple of hours were used up and I needed to rest.

We were only in Istanbul for about eighteen hours on a long layover, but we sure made the most of it!
