I wanted to do something different. I noticed that there are very little Chimpanzee TF's. Honestly Chimps are not my favorite animals but I felt like there still should be of them on this site.
This is the first in a new series each featuring the same characters but in alternate versions of the story.
“Welcome. Can I help you find something?” an old man with thick white hair walked over with a wide smile like he knew he was about to make a sale.
Erin was not sure what he wanted. He passed this store for so long and was always curious about what was inside. The truth was, he needed to get something for his fiancé and their three-year anniversary. He did not want this stranger to know everything about him.
“Um, I looking for a gift for a girl.”
McAlester stared at Erin for a second as if trying to read his mind. He smiled and gestured for Erin to follow him.
“We have several items in stock that any young lady would love. Is she into jewelry, dolls, china, books?” He turned to look at Erin who was racking his brain to think of something that would interest Emily. The truth was she was not into any of those things.
“She is not really into that kind of stuff.” He looked at the collection of dolls staring blankly at him and shuddered. Each one was somehow creepier than the last. “I think I’ll just look around for a bit and see if I can find anything.”
Erin was about to walk away when he felt an iron grip on his arm. He turned to see McAlester inches from his face. “Be careful young man. This store has its secrets and not every item is for sale. He let go of Erin’s arm and walked away leaving Erin confused and thinking about leaving. The old man’s words peaked his interest. Secrets, huh.
Erin maneuvered down rows of silver pots and musty lamps. Some were dull while others were made of pure crystal. He thought about getting one of those until he saw the price tag. “That’s ridiculous,” Erin said dropping the tag. “I could get this stuff on eBay for half these prices. How is this place still in business?”
He kept wandering around until he was behind the checkout counter. McAlester’s was on the phone. “Yes, we have it in stock. Don’t worry it is safe for you. You are not the first one to ask for something like that. I specialize in a certain cliental.”
Erin walked away curious about what he meant. Before he was out of ear shot he heard the old man say, “The mirror will be ready for you at the end of the day.”
“Mirror,” Erin whispered. What kind of mirror could it be? He was already about to leave anyway but he wanted to see what kind of mirror McAlester was talking about. It would have to be special for someone to want it that badly. The prices alone would discourage anyone from buying it probably.
Erin made his way to the back of the store where he saw something. Against the wall was a large antique mirror. The sides were made of what looked like silver that gleamed and shone in the dull overhead lights of the store. There were carvings in the metal that looked like vines of ivy or some kind of plant. Erin walked over and stared at the glass. His reflection stared back at him. He smiled and his reflection did the same. He looked around for a price tag but could not find one. He lifted the mirror up from the wall and stuck his head behind it. Still nothing. McAlester’s words came back to him, “not every item is for sale.” This must be one of those items. Erin let the mirror gently fall against the wall and was about to walk away when he stopped dead in his tracks. He turned back to the mirror and stared at his reflection.
His face was suddenly surrounded by black hair. It wrapped around his head and chin spreading down his neck. His skin turned wrinkly around his eyes as they seemed to be sunken into his face. His nose had become squashed into his face leaving two holes. He opened his mouth as his jaw and lips protruded outward becoming rounder and wider. His body felt itchy all of a sudden. He lifted his shirt and shouted. Black hair had spread around his chest leaving only a bare section around his nipples and stomach. His arms grew longer as he held his shirt and the black hair grew around them covering them completely. His hands turned wrinkly as a layer of hair grew around his knuckles. His feet hurt and he pulled off his shoes and socks. He stared as his feet stretched and changed. Each toe grew longer until they resembled fingers. He pulled up his pants legs revealing the same long black hair had completely covered his flesh. The same was true for his back. There was barely any skin left uncovered. Suddenly his knees buckled and his spin cracked. He fell forward and had to prop himself against the mirror to keep from falling to the ground.
Erin stared at the mirror and a chimpanzee stared back. He looked like a chimp but still seemed to have kept some of his human characteristics. He was still a chimp as far as he was concerned. How did this happen? He closed his eyes and removed his hand from the mirror. He pressed his hands to his eyes and hoped that when he opened them again things would be back to normal.
“Looking good.”
Erin dropped his hands and his eyes shot open. Standing behind him was McAlester who was now much taller or Erin was smaller. The shop owner stared at Erin with a look of anger and fury. Erin held his breath as he turned around to face the old man.
