Not You Again! (Redux - Flat Color)
A little something I'm working on. I decided to see how far I've improved over the last year by redoing the first pic I drew. Er . . . I do like how this has turned out up to this point. I'm working on the shading for it now and . . . HOW DOES THE SHADING WORK!!!
I know how to do it in Illustrator, but I mean how does it work visually? How do you know where to put the shadows. I'm fumbling around a lot with it trying to figure it out, but . . . well, the objects on the ground have all turned out good, but the people are much harder, especially because frog Link has a secondary light-source hitting him directly in the chest, so he's lit completely differently from the rest of the scene. I'm going to keep the flat color version in my scraps in case I want to revisit it again from this point and make a second pass at the shading.
The original lineart was provided by
rednoodle.inc but I've considerably expanded on it.
