[excuse my thought train about these, I overanalyze easily]
In reality this may raise something of a conundrum. Potty training is the transition from diapers to regular underwear, and pullups are designed to break the association between diaper as toilet and diaper as diaper for babies even though pullups are really obviously just diapers for kids in training, still a diaper. I think that expecting to potty train a kid while keeping him wearing diapers is something like shooting yourself in the foot because of that association.
That said it is not always the case and IRL me is part of the proof that it isn't. I was never potty trained officially because, according to my mother, I did it myself. I have a brother 15 months older than me which makes impressionable young me take pointers. I completely skipped the pullup stage and potty charts and was relatively accident free from when the diaper came off some time before 2 years and until my mother was confident with me going without one... Is that why I like them now? Did young me regret putting the stress of the potty on myself so early?
