The commissioner requested the characters be lined.
Not gonna lie, sunset makes a lot of things so differently colored, that was the biggest difficulty. I did cheat though. I remembered there was an XY episode where they were on a snowy mountain, and it has like 2 minutes at the very end where it's sunset, so I used that as color references.
Overall, I am kinda pleased with the result.

I'm glad to have commissioned you this drawing, I knew you could draw a very beautiful scene, and I was right! I love how you've portrayed everything, it's exactly what I was thinking to :3! Thank you again, and don't worry about making me wait, because for this final result, it worth it!
XD Thanks. I usually don't do lined characters so the whole picture is smooth, but the commissioner requested I do so this time. The backgrounds, as written in the description, have been inspired by how the anime portrays them in the XY season, which I personally found the best when it comes to color work on the backgrounds.
You're welcome, and yeah now that I think about it you don't really do lines. You did a good job at it though, and yeah with the backgrounds and line style it very much reminds of the XY games. actually~! (I haven't really watched the anime. Kept putting it off saying "I want to catch up on the rest before I watch this" for years. xwx I've gotta start from Diamond / Pearl and for some reason it just seems so boring to me. xwx But from what I've seen in videos of the XY / XYZ anime it's soooo good! I might just go back to DP/BW. Also just now realized that Best Wishes is also the same initials as Black and White. Wow, smooth. xD
A lot of DP is filler, though it has some really nice plot episodes but also a LOT of filler. The league fights are also really nicely done. B/W has uh... Less of that? It doesn't have as much development and even the movies are sub-par imo. The best aspects of that series is the serious TR stuff. XY series are the shortest of the whole anime so there's not that much filler.
I'm currently watching S/M and while the art style can be tacky at first, I did kinda end up liking it. The Pokemon are done really nicely so that's a huge plus imo.
