My gosh I and Ric love this creature!

D'aw, he was puppy-slug-gled on.

And I thought being slobbered all over by a Bernese Mountain Dog I'd just met was messy!

My brother and his girlfriend lived on the second floor of an older (1920s) apartment house in central Connecticut. The landlady let them use the third floor for storage, since no one lived there and she couldn't keep it rented out. Every time even an even slightly sensitive person went up there, they felt engulfed in a cloud of friendly, welcoming emotion. It felt like a big, friendly dog, but it had been incorporeal for so long and had so much love to give, it had far outgrown the confines of it's original body and almost filled the room.

That is the most lovely of hauntings

I had the opportunity to sit and chat with the whole family yesterday, and mentioned the spirit. They have moved to a different town since then, but when I mentioned the thing on the third floor, they said simultaneously, "Oh, the Lonely One."
